Sports photographer John Gress has more than a decade of experience working for national and international news organizations. Gress' sports images have been used in advertising campaigns and editorial coverage and his assignments have ranged from horse racing, the Indy 500, the NBA All-Star Game, the PGA Championship, the Super Bowl, and the World Series.

In 2007, Gress was a finalist in the National Press Photographers Association's Best of Photojournalism Sports Photojournalist of the Year competition. Also that year, his photo essay about Gay Games VII earned him second place in the annual National Lesbian and Gay Journalist Association's Excellence in Photojournalism awards.
